Vital Little Plans

It’s here! I’m immensely proud to be the Canadian editor of this new collection of essays and speeches by Jane Jacobs, edited by Samuel Zipp and Nathan Storring.

Vital Little Plans gathers writings from throughout Jane’s career, showing her evolution as a writer and thinker. It contains classics, like her groundbreaking “Downtown Is for People,” lesser known gems, and previously unpublished material.

Random House and Random House Canada, Jane’s longtime publishers, are releasing the book on October 11th to mark Jane’s centenary and complement the new biography by Robert Kanigel, out this fall.

I love the jacket and the interior design. Plus the book has the loveliest trim size…the whole package feels very “Jane.”
